The original webisode “Surgical Tool of the Future” features Dr. Deanna Attai, a board certified surgeon and highly regarded women’s health expert and advocate. She is one of the few surgeons in Southern California utilizing the PlasmaBlade.
The PlasmaBlade represents a quantum leap in technology, improving the control, bleeding and recovery time of the patient. The PlasmaBlade needle cuts tissue with significantly reduced tissue injury compared to traditional electrosurgery and significantly less bleeding time than that produced by a standard scalpel. This translates into improved surgical incision wound healing. Peak Surgical, the medical device company that developed the Peak Surgery System, believes the technology may have applications in more than two million surgical procedures each year.
