Virtosoftware released Virto Ajax Calendar 3.1 - a new version of its most popular web part for Microsoft SharePoint with additional features for effective calendar planning and management. The new version allows for user control over event sources of events displayed in his SharePoint calendar.
Virto Ajax Calendar is designed to provide SharePoint users with extended features for calendar planning and management that are not available in the standard SharePoint calendar. It substantially expands the functionality of the default Microsoft SharePoint calendar by a wide range of features and capabilities.
The new version Virto Ajax Calendar 3.1 provides SharePoint users with another powerful feature. Now users can choose the data sources for the events to be displayed in their calendars. Support of multiple event sources has been one of the most important features of Virto Ajax Calendar since the release of its very first version more than a year ago. The web part allows displaying the events from SharePoint lists, SQL tables as well as Microsoft Exchange Calendar. In the new version a user can define the specific data sources (lists, tables, etc.) of events to be displayed in his SharePoint calendar himself.
To enjoy the new feature the users do not need to install or set up anything. The feature is available as a simple filter in SharePoint user calendar. Using the filter you can, for example, display the events regarding the matters of specific department or just select the events with highest priority.
