The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has reported that there have been more than 21,400 complaints lodged over Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) since April this year. Last week alone, the number of PPI complaints reached nearly 2,000. The total number of complaints over the last year stood at 114,478.
What is of note is that almost half of these total complaints have been made in the last 16 months – highlighting growing consumer awareness of their right to make claims for mis-sold PPI. However, many tens of thousands are still unaware that they could be entitled to compensation for PPI mis-selling.
