Email newsletters are dead right? Online advertising is over right? 26 year old entrepreneur, Sean Gallagher, doesn’t think so.
Since Startup Freedom launched last year the test model was that of a blog. With traffic and newsletter subscribers growing rapidly the young CEO wants to take the site that helps aspiring online business owners to the next level.
He said, “I see an opportunity to deliver relevant and helpful content to entrepreneurs in a format that isn’t being offered by any company in our space. There are a number of other companies in difference markets that have it nailed. DailyCandy.com, Thrillist.com, and Groupon.com to name a few. We plan to be the Thrillist for aspiring and new internet entrepreneurs!”
Sean claims that the current method that entrepreneurs use to gather information is flawed and doesn’t fit in the entrepreneur’s routines or daily life.
Sean wouldn’t give many more details on how he plans to shift his focus from blog to newsletter but he did say that the foundation of incredible content will stay the same. The topics will be narrowed to cater to those people that are just starting an internet business. The new format of the site is being launched October 1st in its beta stage.
While Sean seems optimistic, he has good reason to be. The newsletter companies he is modeling Startup Freedom after all generate over $10 million USD per year and are experiencing exponential growth!
“We’re determined to nail it. Even if there are some kinks with the new model at first, the long-term potential of this model in this market is huge!”, said Sean. He continued, “...and a big part of finding success with an internet business is finding your USP – unique selling proposition, or as I like to call it, your unique market position. Right now there is no-one delivering content in the way that I want to see as an entrepreneur. We just need to nail the content and we will stand out in the market!”
Other business experts and gurus disagree, saying that the direct marketing style blog that dominates the industry is popular for a reason. They claim that it is the best business model for lead generation and driving information product sales.
