Oslo, Norway ( prbd ) November 10, 2010 - Firestormsoccer.com ( http://www.firestormsoccer.com ), a 19-month-old Soccer Fitness website has come out with a Soccer Fitness ( http://www.firestormsoccer.com ) eBook. The eBook covers a lot of new details about the different aspects of player fitness levels related to the game of soccer.

Fatigue
Fatigue is a major problem encountered by players during the game, especially when they are pitted against a strong team or when the match is an extremely important decider. Players encounter fatigue whenever there is a short burst of intense activity at any point in the game. They also normally feel tired during the early phase of the second half. And of course, they would feel extreme fatigue towards the final stages of the game. Temporary bursts of fatigue that players feel after a period of intense exercise could be due to some disturbances in the ion homeostasis in the muscle. Soon after half time, during the initial few minutes of the game, players sometimes suffer from reduced sprint performance. This could be due to a lowering of the temperature of the muscles during the low level of activity at half time. Players also suffer from glycogen depletion during the final stages of the game, which can occur in the individual fibers of the muscle.

Environment
When the climate in which the players are playing tends to be hot or humid, they can also suffer from dehydration. This can also give rise to hyperthermia as a result. Players need to be in top shape so that they can rapidly recover from exhaustion during intense periods of activity in the game. In order to be able to achieve this level of fitness, they need to be exposed to high intensity exercises for prolonged training sessions regularly. As the body gets used to intense activity during exercise sessions, it will be able to perform better in the actual game even under highly stressful conditions.

Diet
The diet that players go through during their regular training sessions need to be prescribed by a dietician or a fitness coach. The diet that they consume during the run up to the match is also extremely important. The diet would play a major part in influencing the fitness level of players before and during a match. Players need to have a diet that is rich in carbohydrates as that would give them the necessary energy to have endurance. The diet should contain about 8 to 10 grams of carbohydrates for every kilogram of body weight. Players should have this kind of diet especially during the days before the match begins.

Physiology
A study involving ten soccer professionals was conducted in which the peak torque of their eccentric hamstring muscles was measured. It was observe that the peak torque decreased during the match progressively. It was also observed that it decreased after the interval at half time. This finding indicates that the muscles can undergo strain injury due to the reduced torque. The stability of the joints could also be impaired as a result of the reduction in torque.
