The premise for each Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter is the same - designs, shapes and font characters are stored on cartridges. You can either choose from one of the cartridges that comes as standard with the electronic cutter, or extend your range with the many additional Cricut cartridges that are available.
Once you’ve put your cartridge into your Personal Electronic Cutter - simply choose your design, put in your cutting material (paper, card, vinyl can all be used) and hit a button. You can cut out shapes, depending on which model of electronic cutter you have, ranging in size from less than 1 inch to over 20 inches high.
The original Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter is a highly portable and lightweight machine. As with all of the cutting machines, there is no need to attach it to a computer. It can cut shapes in sizes ranging from 1 inch to 5.5 inches tall and 11.5 inches wide.
The Cricut Expression Personal Electronic Cutter is the top of the range model. With greater versatility in terms of modes and functions, and the ability to cut shapes up to an amazing 23.5 inches tall, this machine gives you maximum flexibility for all of your crafting needs.
The Cricut Create Personal Electronic Cutter aims to combine the flexibility of the Expression with the portability of the Cricut original, whilst the Cricut Cake Personal Electonic Cutter makes cake decorating a breeze, allowing you to cut shapes out of materials such as fondant, gum paste, cookie dough, frosting sheets and molding chocolate.
