Pink Elephant Opens New facility dedicated to IT Service Management Training

Global leader in IT Service Management professional services announces the opening of its Reading Training Centre.
Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom (prbd.net) 21/03/2011
Reading, UK – March 21st 2011. Following a period of sustained growth in 2010, Pink Elephant UK are delighted to announce the opening of its dedicated ITSM Centre of Excellence Training Centre in Reading.

2010 saw substantial growth in Pink Elephant’s ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and Project Management (PRINCE2) training, in a period when the UK economy was still slowly recovering from the global financial meltdown.

“Because of the difficulties through 2008/09, many organisations naturally cut back on costs – and because many organisations see training as a cost and not an investment, this was the first budget to get cut. But with the realisation of the benefits, in terms of reduced costs and risks, that ITIL brings, we saw a surge in the requirement for ITIL training”, says Marcus Harris, CEO, Pink Elephant UK.

This didn’t only happen in the UK, Pink Elephant’s sister companies throughout the world saw the same revival. Harris continues, “I think that combined with the benefits ITIL brings, organisations wanted to go to a specialist trainer, and Pink are one of the few organisations that focuses on, and excels in IT Service Management. In addition, we’ve revamped our ITIL courses so that they’re not simply ITIL theory – we don’t just teach to sit an exam. The delegates get some real-life, practical knowledge, so that they can return to work and start changing things. And I think that the market is noticing the difference Pink brings to the table.”

The opening of the new Reading training centre also coincides with the move to new office premises in the prestigious Castle Street district in the centre of the town. “Because of the growth we’ve experienced over the past twelve months we have expanded our full time employee base, and simply needed more room”, Harris adds.

This is one of many training centres Pink Elephant intends to open over the next five years. The next will be in the North of England.

ITIL® and PRINCE2® are Registered Trade Marks of the Office of Government Commerce in the UK and other countries.
