May 13, 2011 -- A new car should last for many years if it is maintained properly; if you really look after it then you could find that it lasts you for a couple of decades. If you don't maintain the car though, it could start to age very quickly. If you want to maintain your car to make it last longer then the following information will help.

* When starting your car first thing in the morning don't push the engine too much. This is even more important if the weather is particularly cold. You could end up damaging the engine unless you give the car a little bit of time to warm up.

* It is always a good idea to put an automatic car into neutral when you are stopped at traffic lights. This will mean putting less strain on the engine.

* Being careful when driving will be safer for you and your family but it will ensure that your engine and tyres last longer.

* Try not to go to extreme left or right position on your steering wheel for long periods. Doing this can damage the pump in the power steering.

* Make sure that you get your car serviced regularly.

* The water and oil levels in the car should be checked regularly.

* Take care of the bodywork of the car and that way it will look good for much longer. If you haven't got the time for this yourself then you should take your car regularly to be cleaned at the garage. At least once every few months, you should pay for a full polish and clean for the car.

Advances in technology today continue to astound. And none so more than in the car industry. Take all things to do with the city cars. With far reaching developments in electric vehicles like crossover cars naming just a couple of.
