Born in appalling conditions to a deprived farmer in Jalna district, Maharashtra, Dr.Bawaskar started his career in abysmal circumstances. Coming from a poor and illiterate family environment, he has risen to become the first Indian vaccine researcher in snake and Scorpio venom. His in-depth research on this subject coupled with motivation provided to him by his family members, Dr. Bawaskar found the first successful vaccine for Scorpio sting in the country. He also published his biography titled “Barristercha Kartta” and many of his research articles are recognized in ‘Lancet’ – a top Medical Magazine in the world. He has also to his credit the Bawaskar Hospital and Research Center in Mahad, Raigad District which runs under his expert guidance and leadership.
