Koolpak, the UK’s leading manufacturers of First Aid and Sports Injury products, are launching into the consumer market and at the forefront is the range of unique children’s hot and cold packs.

The two director’s, Mike McKenna and Martyn Bright, brought Koolpak seven years ago but have been successfully selling the products for over 20 years.

By chance they happened to see the company was being sold and took the opportunity to buy it. At that time Koolpak had a limited range of three products; hot and cold reusable packs and an instant ice pack.

The product range has now grown significantly to twelve hot and cold packs. The pair are eager to push forward the benefits of treating injuries as soon as possible, instant ice packs allow sprains and bruises to to be treated within seconds – simply shake the pack – which will reduce damage and lower recovery time.

Ideal for keeping in your kit bag, the Sports Instant ice packs lasts longer than standard packs, and is ideal for soft tissue injuries.

As well as instant hot and cold packs, their range now includes a unique instant cool bandage. Combining cooling therapy with compression, speeding up recovery time dramatically. The innovative bandage works by drawing heat away from the injured area through evaporation which helps reduce pain and swelling.

Included in the range are packs that can be reused time and time again, ideal for providing cost-effective and versatile continuous treatment at home.

The range also includes five products specifically manufactured for children.

Investing in the design of cartoon characters for the children’s range themselves has had many advantages; the characters are unique and the company owns the cartoon copyright and thus avoids the heavy overhead cost of a licensing deal.

Kids can chose from Woopsadaisy or Elly the elephant reusable gel packs, or Tumble the tiger and thumper the football for instant cold. For instant heat theirs also Bumpy the bear instant hot pack.

CEO Mike McKenna who have dreamt up ‘Woopsadaisy’ says: “We wanted to get into the comsumer market and felt a kids range was the right product to enter the competitive market.

“We had lots of fun dreaming up names for our kids range.

Martyn Bright says: “The introduction of the range with strengthen our comprehensive range of products, with the children’s range leading the charge.

“These hot and cold treatments products work effectively for adults and children alike and due to demand we have also introduced a sports range.
