Dr. Heidi Horsley on her nationally syndicated talk radio program Healing the Grieving Heart www.thegriefblog.com will announce her plans to present at ADEC with President Dr. Howard Winokuer.

The Open to Hope Foundation proposal was accepted on behalf of the Association for Death Education and Counseling's 32nd Annual Conference to be held April 7-10, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Dr. Heidi and Dr. Howard will present on Self Care for the Clinician on Friday, April 9, 2009 from 10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Dr. Heidi Horsley, PsyD, MSW, MS, is a bereaved sibling and a licensed psychologist and social worker. Dr. Heidi is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Open to Hope Foundation and an adjunct professor at Columbia University. She has a private practice in Manhattan, NY specializing in grief and loss. She is also author of “Teen Grief Relief” and “Real Men Do Cry”. She holds graduate degrees from the University of San Francisco, Columbia University, and Loyola University.

About Dr. Howard Winokuer

Dr. Howard R. Winokuer, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, FT brings a special sensitivity and total commitment to his work. Dr. Winokuer was the co-founder of TO LIFE, a not-for-profit education and counseling organization that specialized in issues dealing with grief and loss and life enrichment and currently runs The Winokuer Center for Counseling and Healing. During his over thirty year career, he has worked with thousands of people dealing with these issues. He has conducted workshops and seminars throughout the United States as well as in eight foreign countries. Dr. Winokuer has written numerous articles on issues such as coping with grief, relationships, aging parents and teen suicide. He is currently the President of ADEC.
