The Bullmastiff is a cross between a English Mastiff and an Old English Bulldog. They were first bred by the English becoming a pure bred in the English Kennel Club in 1924. In the 19th century most Bullmastiff's were used for protection and because of their loyalty. The joy of these dogs is great they make great companions, and are very good with children. The Bullmastiff wasn't a pure bred in the American Kennel Club until 1933 after which their interest rose. Making them on of the top show dog breeds today.

Show dogs are entered based on a bred standard which is true for each show. The bred standard weight for a male Bullmastiff is between 110lb -130lbs (50-59KG) additionally the standard for a female is a bit lower at only 100lbs – 120lbs (45-54KG). There are several show types including All Breed Dog Shows, Specialty Dog Shows, and Group Dogs shows, each dog must meet all standards and be registered with the American Kennel Club or the English Kennel Club for inclusion.

“Milton” is a brindle Bullmastiff breed having either fawn or red overlaying strips.
