Toronto, Canada - GAO Instruments (www.GAOInstruments.com) has rolled out its digital signal level meter which is designed to provide users with optimal functions at a good price point. It is specially intended for use in the maintenance of digital, analog, digital FM, dual channel measurement or bilateral networks. Featuring a durable and portable design, easy keypad operation, high accuracy and quick response time, it is an ideal tool for field technicians.
This handheld digital signal level meter, model A0N00009, operates over a frequency range of 5 to 870 MHz. It measures analog and digital channel power as well as quality measurements such as difference-carrying, MER (modulation error ratio), BER (bit error rate) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR, S/N). This portable digital signal level meter performs auto channel spectrum scanning, limit testing and auto testing and also has functions such as single and multi-channel testing, and all-band scanning.
It allows direct entry of a channel or frequency and offers great flexibility in head-ends and distribution networks that employ narrow digital signals or non-standard frequency applications. This digital signal level meter boasts a bandwidth of 0.28 to 9.99 MHz and a signal level measurement range of 30 to 120 dBμV at a precision level of ±1.5 dB. It is able to analyze QAM 32 64 128/ITU-TJ.83 Annex A/B/C modulated signals and provides a spectrum analysis span of 6.25, 12.5, 25 and 62.5 MHz. It uses an RS232 interface or a USB port for data exchange. In addition, PC toolbox software and constellation diagram display are provided.
