Drs. Gloria & Heidi Horsley on their nationally syndicated talk radio program the “Open to Hope Show” will announce the launch of their new forums.

Harriet Hodgson, an independent journalist for 35+ years and author of 30 books, has just been appointed as a Forum Editor for the Open to Hope Foundation website. Hodgson will be responding to posts about the death of an adult child, something she experienced herself.

“You are not alone,” Hodgson said. “The Open to Hope Foundation understands and is there for you. Log in today!” While you are there don’t forget to purchase Open to Hope: Inspirational Stories of Healing After Loss and pre-order Open to Hope: Inspirational Stories of Handling the Holidays.

In 2007 her elder daughter, the mother of her twin grandchildren, died from the injuries she received in a car crash. Two days later her father-in-law died. Two months later her brother died. In the fall of 2007 her former son-in-law died from the injuries he received in another car crash. His death made her grandchildren orphans and the Hodgsons GRGs– grandparents raising grandchildren.

“It was unbelievable,” Hodgson recalled. “Since I’m a writer I decided to write my way through grief.”

Staying upbeat for her 15-year old grandchildren and grieving for multiple losses has been the biggest challenge of Hodgson’s life. Her mantra: “I will get through this.” And Hodgson has, writing six books for those who are mourning and dozens of articles for the Open to Hope website. Happy Again! Your New and Meaningful Life After Loss is her latest book and she has just finished two books about raising grandchildren.
