Google Buzz fizzles out to make way for Google +

Google+ now has over 40million users, and due to the success of Google+, Google will now be closing down all access to Google Buzz.

Google Buzz was introduced to Google account holders as an added extra social feature. It was launched at a time when Google seemed to be going through a somewhat experimental stage, looking to create exciting and innovative products for its users. Sadly the launch of things like Google Talk and Google Wave overshadowed the launch of Google Buzz, and there was limited uptake from account holders.

Google Buzz was launched in 2010 as a micro blogging and messaging social tool, intended to mimic the features and perhaps the popularity of Twitter. As soon as account holders began to sign up to Google Buzz, they began to express privacy concerns which had a lasting damaging effect on the reputation of the application. The concerns that were raised led to a huge audit of Google from the Federal Trade Commission and the introduction of annual investigations.

Google learned a lot from this period of time, and have applied this learning experience to their new product Google+. The privacy features of Google+ are much more robust than of Google Buzz and have even been praised by internet users who are tired of sharing everything with everyone on Facebook.

Google+ now has over 40million users, and due to the success of Google+, Google will now be closing down all access to Google Buzz. With so many users engaged in the new Google+ social sharing platform, now is a better time than ever for businesses to look at how they can make the most of the opportunity for exposure that Google+ offers. Users can share video, photos, blog posts and status updates to any one in their contacts, but contacts can also be defined in to “circles” so that users can choose who to share with rather than publicising everything to everyone. Friends and followers are then able to +1 post to show their appreciation. SEO theorists are yet to prove how effective the +1 is in achieving better search results, but there is now doubt that some impact will be made with a site achieving a lot of +1 appreciation. Getting used to the layout of Google+ does take some time, but once competent it is a useful and reliable social sharing tool.

With so many social media applications available for businesses to choose from, it is hard to decided how and when to use these social sites for business. Choosing a professional social media firm such as Dynamic Search, who concentrate on internet marketing Tuscan, is the best way to take advantage of the power of social media for your business.
