How safe is your data? Sentry42 bring the business data security debate to Norwich

Local counter terrorism expert is guest speaker at November business breakfast briefing
Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom (prbd.net) 26/10/2011
October 26th 2011 - Data centre provider, Sentry42’s next business breakfast briefing, on Thursday 3rd November in Norwich, is now open for delegate registrations and will focus on data security.

Sentry42 Managing Director, Alex Rabbetts, who will be speaking at the business breakfast briefing, said: ‘Data has come a long way from the dedicated computer labs of the 1970’s. Today’s smart-phone enabled mobilised workforce thrives on free-flowing data and corporate information. However, the recent experiences of organisations as diverse as the Security Services and Sony, among many, many others, remind us of the risks. The safety of data is no longer the domain of the IT department in isolation – at next week’s business breakfast we’ll be discussing data theft, data loss, compliance and how companies can manage their data risk.’

Sentry42’s guest speaker at the business breakfast briefing is Bob Darts, Counter Terrorism Security Advisor, Norfolk Constabulary. An accredited counter terrorism expert, Darts has been involved in policing since 1966 and spent 31years in Bedfordshire Police, 17years of which was in Special Branch predominantly involved in combating Irish related violent extremism and terrorism. Although now retired as a police officer he is employed by Norfolk Constabulary for the safety of “Crowded Places,” 2012 Olympic Games coordination and the PROTECT and PREPARE strands of HM Government’s Counter Terrorism Strategy.
