Web Doctor Continues to Attract High Volumes of People Seeking Private Health Insurance

Webdoctor.org.uk, the Health Insurance Comparison site, continue to attract increasing amounts of traffic partly due to doubts as to the NHS's budgetary ability to provide comprehensive healthcare for all.
Fordingbridge, Hampshire, United Kingdom (prbd.net) 11/11/2011
Web Doctor, one of the UK's leading online Health Insurance Comparison facilities reports record amounts of traffic to the site in response to perceived capacity limitations within the NHS.

Richard Brewster, Managing Director of Web Doctor says, 'We are continuing to see a high volume of enquiries regarding health insurance which is not surprising as many NHS Trusts according to a report from the Co-operation and Competition Panel are imposing a minimum 15 week wait for patients to receive treatment which is close to the 18 week limit. This action is purely down to Trust's trying to save money'.

The NHS, like many publicly funded entities has been instructed by the Government to make substantial savings in response to the ongoing financial crisis in the UK and across the world and this can lead to, at least in some parts of the UK, limited access to certain NHS funded care and treatment.

Richard Brewster goes onto say, 'The government has told the NHS that it must save £20 billion by 2015. The delays in providing treatment of surgical is a form of rationing forced on hospitals by their reduced funding set against an ever increasing workload of acute care as the population ages. Those concerned are turning to private health insurance as a necessity rather than a luxury as there appears to be no answer to the NHS black hole other than impacting on patient care and the inevitable increase in waiting lists.'

Another reason why many people are considering private health insurance is the well documented 'Post Code Lottery’ when it comes to NHS care. The 'Post Code Lottery' when associated with the NHS refers to the differing levels of care/treatment received depending on which area of the country the patient resides in.

Richard Brewster finishes with, 'Insurers are now making Health Insurance more accessible to a wider range of people by developing innovative products that have become available in order to try and meet the differing needs and budgets of those who would like to have access to this vital service'.
