Popular rapper Lil B released his new song, "I Got AIDS," on the Internet this week to promote AIDS awareness and STD testing. In an interview with MTV News, the rapper (who is HIV/AIDS-negative in real life) said he wanted to encourage his fans to be sexually responsible—in spite of the stories of sexual bravado they might hear in his own songs and the songs of other rappers.

"I have a lot of songs that have sexual lyrics, and I want to tell people the truth about sexuality and to make sure that they get tested if they're sexually active," he said.

In the song, the narrator discovers he has AIDS after leading an irresponsible sex life. He falls into many of the common STD traps, such as unprotected sex, multiple partners, and not getting STD tested. At the end of the song, the narrator urges listeners to face their fears and get STD tested to protect themselves and their sexual partners.

GetSTDtested.com, a popular online STD testing service, applauded Lil B's actions.

"Lil B does a fantastic job of addressing a lot of the myths surrounding sexual safety as well as the importance of STD testing," says a spokesperson for getSTDtested.com. "And GetSTDtested.com wants to help his message go further."

GetSTDtested.com is offering a 15% discount on all STD testing services, including hiv testing, with the code: LILB. GetSTDtested.com offers private, hospital-accurate, painless testing for HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and other common STDs. No insurance is necessary, and to maximize convenience, at-home and local lab testing options are available.

"Regular STD testing should be a part of every sexually-active person's routine. You can't rely on just looking at a person or even yourself to get an idea of someone's STD status," says getSTDtested.com.

Lil B would agree. In the song, the AIDS-infected narrator raps: "I never got sick/Plus I looked good"
