AppForum Digital Printing Conference Launches Event Marketing Cross Media Campaign with New Personal

Innovative technologies that drive print, like XMPie’s personalized video, will be showcased at 2012 PODi event
New York City, New York, United States of America (prbd.net) 15/12/2011
Rochester, NY — December 14, 2011 — PODi, the Digital Printing Initiative, has partnered with XMPie and creative agency DME Studios on an entertaining cross media event marketing campaign for the 2012 PODi AppForum conference for digital printing, January 23-25 at Tropicana Las Vegas. The campaign features ground breaking new technology, XMPie PersonalEffect® Video, which enables personalized video.
“The AppForum is known as ground zero for the introduction of practical applications for many exciting technology developments, like custom QR codes and augmented reality. This year we’re very excited to be partnering with XMPie and DME Studios to demonstrate the potential of personalized video to power cross media campaigns,” says PODi president Rab Govil. “DME Studios has created a unique and quirky concept that integrates XMPie®-driven personalization across multiple channels, including print, video, email and personalized landing pages. And XMPie’s new personalized video software, which uses Adobe® After Effects for cinematic-quality 1:1 movies, is integral to the messaging.”
The campaign includes direct mail postcards which lead users to a personalized landing page where they meet Herman, who works for a company that has not embraced the changes and opportunities enabled by digital printing and personalization. In a series of video blogs, Herman shares his frustration at not being able to move his company and career forward by attending the AppForum. Each video includes personalized imagery specific to the individual viewer.
Direct mail recipients also receive a series of follow-up emails in a coordinated DRIP campaign inviting viewers to see the next installment of Herman’s video blog. Additional viewers are added to the program through social media, viral referrals and communications by AppForum media sponsors.
A new Pre-Conference Intensive session has been added to AppForum, On the Cutting Edge of Cross Media, which will examine personalized video, personalized designer QR codes and augmented reality. Anyone interested in an in-depth look at the Herman campaign will enjoy hearing from XMPie’s Worldwide Marketing Manager Larry Zusman and the video experts from DME Studios.
“As marketers it is becoming more and more difficult to engage customers and evoke action,” says Ben Dyon, CEO of DME Studios. “XMPie continues to push the envelope in providing innovative tools [like personalized video software] that enable companies like ours to create relevant cross-channel communications, and advertise with confidence.“
“The PODi AppForum campaign is a showcase in itself of how to integrate different media channels into one complete personalized campaign. We’ve seen a significant increase in customer response rates and conversions when using personalization in video, print and web compared to stand alone non-personalized pieces. Instead of pushing everything through the web or social media, we believe in using a diverse mix of media to engage the audience, which in turn drives the demand for printed materials. We all respond differently and prefer our own method of communication; many of us still prefer a printed piece of collateral in our hands, so using a diverse marketing mix ensures that everyone is reached. We are looking forward to sharing this information at the AppForum.”
“XMPie is very excited to work with PODi and our great customer DME Studios on this exceptional, highly engaging campaign, which showcases the power of 1:1 cross media marketing with the capabilities of PersonalEffect Video,” says Mr. Zusman. “Print and marketing service providers and enterprise marketers can now create individualized communications in all media, with increased ROI. And as will be demonstrated at the AppForum 2012 in Las Vegas, this is a game-changer for us all.” The Herman campaign can be experienced at www.SparkNewIdeas.com
