"Medigap Insurance Consumer Guide"
Medigap, the supplemental insurance program for Medicare insurance, will go through important modifications effective June 1, 2010. These changes range from the addition of two new plans in addition to the removal of four others. Federal government law from back in 2005 are the reason for all these changes.
These Medigap plan alterations will include:
* Medigap Plan E, Medigap Plan H, Medigap Plan I and Medigap Plan J will be no longer available.
* The removal of home recovery as well as preventative care benefits from all policies
* The increase of the benefit for excess fees in Medigap Plan G to 100 %.
* The inclusion of two new Medigap Plans - M and N.
* The addition of a hospice benefit to the standard benefits of Medigap Plans A-G.
Merely new plans written after June 1, 2010 will be affected by these changes. Persons signed up in insurance policies prior to 6-1-10 won't be effected. Individual Medicare end users will not need to make changes to their Medigap policies unless of course their existing plans no longer satisfy their needs.
