Jacksonville, AR - Dr. Jordan Cooper and Dr. James Cooper are pleased to announce that Cooper Family Dentistry, the premiere dental clinic in Central Arkansas, will now offer a full-range of oral and maxillofacial surgical services for its patients. As oral & maxillofacial surgeons, both Dr. Coopers are specialists with advanced training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of various dental surgical procedures. After their four years of dental school, they completed four to six years of additional formal training in treating the craniomaxillofacial complex. An Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon can diagnose and treat a wide variety conditions. The following are just some of the many conditions, treatments and procedures Cooper Family Dentistry provides expert services for:

Tooth Extractions & Impacted Teeth
Wisdom Teeth
Misaligned Jaws TMJ, Facial Pain, & Facial Reconstruction
Dental Implants
Oral Cancers , Tumors, Cysts, & Biopsies
Sleep Apnea
Cleft Lip & Palate
Apicoectomy

Some patients may need more specialized care, such as bone grafting or dental implants. Bone grafting is a surgical procedure to rebuild bone in the bone deficient areas of an individual’s jaw. This allows for the placement of dental implants and for repair of the supporting bone around your teeth damaged by periodontal disease, tooth extraction, or injury/infection. When a patient is missing one or more teeth, their jawbone is no longer stimulated by the tooth roots, and it will shrink over time. Therefore, a bone graft may become necessary to avoid any future damage.

Cooper Family Dentistry also provides dental implants. Dental implants have become the preferred method of care for the replacement of teeth because they allow a missing tooth (or teeth) to be returned to perfect function and appearance without hurting or damaging any other teeth or tissues. Depending on the total quantity of dental implants used, a denture might be made that snaps onto a bar supported by the dental implants. Or a fixed denture that remains in the mouth can be attached to the dental implants instead. Dental implants can help a great deal preserve the patient’s jaw bone and significantly reduce the shrinking of the jaw that commonly appears in long-term denture wearers.

“We couldn’t be more excited and proud to provide the best oral surgical care for our friends and patients,” Dr.Cooper explained. “We know that to feel your best, you need to look your best. We specialize in the latest treatments and methods to insure our patients get the best care possible. Whether you need a wisdom tooth extracted or a complete dental implant reconstruction, we can give you the smile you deserve.”
