The Walkie Talkie Store in downtown New York is having its monthly promotion of various products. It should be noted at the outset that the Walkie Talkie Store is an internet only store and does not have a showroom or allow one to collect the goods. The promotions of Walkie Talkies are always fun and are devices that many people desire. In the US for example there is the Family Radio Service (FRS) which is a Personal radio service in the Ultra high frequency band (UHF). It requires no license and anyone may use them. However they are restricted in power output to 500milliwatts and therefore range of around 1 mile in line of sight. There are typically 14 Channels.
Then there is the GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) for which a license is required and it may have a power output of up to 5Watts and have an additional 8 channels (22 in total).
In the UK and Europe the laws are different and are known a PMR446 which operate in the 446MHz wavelength and have 8 channels, 500mW power output and a maximum range of 2 miles in open line of sight.
Effectively Walkie talkie legal in the US (with or without a license are not legal in Europe and vice versa.

It is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that the product he buys is legal to operate in his country and to obtain the license he requires to operate the radio equipment he purchases.
