According to the US Census Bureau, the state of Texas ranks second in number of fatalities caused by car accidents. In response to this unfortunate statistic, Godsey Martin and IJUSTGOTHIT.COM, a well-recognized personal injury law firm in DFW, has announced the launch of Project Precious Cargo. Godsey Martin will team up with the Dallas Police Department in an effort to distribute and install over 100 brand new car seats. The car seats will be distributed to DFW families in need on September 15th, 2012. The distribution of car seats will take place in conjunction with the first annual Project Precious Cargo safety event at the African American Museum in Fair Park.
"As a personal injury trial attorney, far too often I see the devastating injuries children endure. Nearly 250,000 children are seriously injured in car accidents every year," stated David Godsey of Godsey Martin. "The majority of these injuries are avoidable, simply by having a car safety seat properly installed. Our goal is to eliminate these life changing events from happening. This will be an annual event. Every year we hope to increase the amount of car seats distributed and the geography of Project Precious Cargo."
