July 1, 2010 -- When police arrested Florida resident Richard Andrew Thomas, charging him with possession of steroids with intent to distribute, they also fanned the flames surrounding Washington Chiropractor Douglas Nagel, who was allegedly buying steroids from Thomas and prescribing them to NHL and MLB players.
Steroids for sale in the US occupy a grey area, complicated by legality issues when buying steroids without a prescription and the ban on performance enhancing drugs in place in many professional sports leagues. Anabolic steroids for sale online may often be from questionable sources and while ordering online is often considered the most discreet way to obtain the controlled substances, buyers who go this route without investigating the retailers may put their health and financial information at risk. Richard Andrew Thomas represents the black market dealers who offer performance enhancing drugs and steroids for sale with no questions asked. Anyone who’s currently buying steroids through “a guy” at their gym should consider what police found when they arrested Thomas: besides anabolic steroids, he was selling prescription painkillers including Valium and was in possession of several guns. This is hardly a reputable, door-to-door equivalent of a pharmacy.
Thomas was also linked to Washington area Chiropractor Douglas Nagel. Nagel had treated players from the NHL’s Washington Capitals and MLB’s Washington Nationals, and is alleged to have prescribed them steroids which he obtained from Thomas. Both leagues ban the use of performance enhancing drugs and, although Nagel is suspected of buying steroids with the intent of using the substances to reduce healing times for the players, the fact remains that his alleged actions were illegal and place the players in violation of their respective league’s substance abuse policy. Charged with a single count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and seven charges of solicitation to deliver a controlled substance, Nagel is currently awaiting trial.
The activity of Thomas and Nagel and the involvement of multiple professional athletes is indicative of the underground nature of performance enhancing drugs despite widespread use. At this point, steroids for sale in the US are often suspect and potential buyers of the drugs are strongly encouraged to work with their doctor and reputable suppliers.
