Portland, OR – September 04, 2010 — Earlier this year, MB Sports made the decision to team up with Portland Ski Boat Center, and selected the award winning dealer to become the exclusive retail establishment for all of Oregon and SW Washington.
MB Sports has been a family business for over 3 generations, and been building boats since 1993. As a family-run operation, MB Sports has an appreciation for hard work and dedication so the decision to select Mark Lawhead, owner of Portland Ski Boat Center, was a match made in heaven.
Lawhead has decades of experience and countless awards in the marine industry. Two awards in particular set Mark and his dealership ahead of the rest. First, the shop has won the “Dealership of the Year” award over hundreds of other dealers, and second, Portland Ski Boat Center has been the largest inboard dealer in the world for the past six years in a row. Mark works everyday at the dealership doing whatever’s needed; whether it’s driving forklifts, detailing boats, or on-the-water demos, Mark is deeply in tune with his employees and customers.
Lawhead was thrilled to add MB Boats to his lineup earlier this year but had no idea how excited his customers would be.
Lawhead had this to say about his partnership with MB: “Everyone here was extremely excited to introduce the MB Boat line. We have had phenomenal success in our first year of MB sales. We knew MB Boats were a premier custom boat but have been excited to see how well they preform on the water.”
In their first summer season, Portland Skiboats sold out two truckloads of 2011 boats. Lawhead added, “MB Boats have huge ballast systems, awesome surf wakes and wakeboard wakes – we think it’s one of the best wakeboard boat deals on the market.”
