MacPremium today is pleased today to introduce Facemac.com, their new social website featuring the latest stories about industry trends, hardware, software, and accessories for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. The site enables any registered user to post an announcement or story, and those most popular among the members are published on the site's front page. Registration is free and open to anyone. The primary goal of the social site is to help unify users of Apple products by promoting a sense of community, sharing useful tips, and publishing news and information.

The site's homepage displays the Facemac logo, and the tagline "Your Source for Apple Related Social News." Four buttons allow the user to select from Published News, Upcoming News, Submit Apple/Mac News, and Groups. Published News is the default setting and displays the many stories which have been voted of sufficient value to be published. Stories include a headline, text, a graphic or video, and the name of the posting member. In addition, readers can click on links to Read More, Discuss, Bury, or Add To (submit the story's link to del.icio.us, Digg, Reddit, Facebook, Technorati, Slashdot, Stumbleupon, Windows Live, Squidoo, Yahoo, Google, or Ask).

Feature Highlights:
- Facemac is the social news bookmark service dedicated to the world of Apple, Mac, iPad and iPhone
- Read the stories judged most popular by other members
- Fully searchable site allows quick location of articles
- Share news, information, tips, announcements, opinions and ideas
- International, multi-language Facemac websites under development

The second button, Upcoming News, takes the user to a listing of all submissions, including those which may never be published for lack of interest. Submit Apple/Mac News links to the login page, and after logging in users may submit stories. Lastly, Groups allow users to share articles with other members who share a common interest in a topic. Below the four buttons already mentioned is a navigation bar containing three selections: Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Each of these has a drop-down menu which allows the user to select from Software, Hardware, Accessories, and News. The site employs Pligg, a modular, open-source Content Management System designed specifically for social publishing.

"It is my sincere hope that Facemac will become an example of "The Wisdom of Crowds", where the opinions and ideas of many will prove superior to those of the few in the media," stated CEO Gabriele Gobbo. "The Mac/iPhone/iPad community needs a forum devoted to its special interests, and Facemac, a social publishing website, will try to fill that need."

System Requirements:
- Any web browser

Pricing and Availability:
Registration on the Facemac website is free, and open to anyone.
