Medigap plans are administered by private insurance providers and the policies and premiums slightly differ from state to state. The premium will not prove as expensive as a private insurance. While choosing the plan, time should be spent to learn about it from an insurance expert and determine if it provides adequate risk coverage. If it does then you must enroll for it, ideally in the first 6 months of turning 65 as it you don’t have to give a screening test.
