Phoenix, AZ ( prbd ) October 27, 2010 - VoiceAmerica’s first round of auditions for their newest channel, VoiceAmerica Kids Network, launching January 1, 2011 are completed. Several kid host positions have been filled.

VoiceAmerica in collaboration with KidStar Radio Network were pleased with the turnout and talent of kids ages 10-17 on October 16th. The first seven hosts and four shows for VoiceAmerica Kids have been chosen from the kids that auditioned in Phoenix, AZ. Tyler Cayer and Stephen Thompson will be hosting the “Stephen Tyler Technology Show,” which will discuss gadget reviews; Madeline Todd and Emily Giroux are to host “Beyond the Third Dimension,” researching ghosts and paranormal activity; kids Erin Burke and Soyuong will be hosting a show on current fashion trends; and we also have Maddie Rose who will be hosting an Entertainment show based around dance and stage.

Numerous additional kids are being considered and will be called back for second auditions in mid to late November, possible show topics being: Health, Sports, Fashion and Book Reviews. Michelle Corr, host of “6 Degrees” on VoiceAmerica’s Variety Channel, Saturdays at 10am PT, dedicated two hours of her October 16th show, the 10-11am PT hour and 12noon-1pm PT hour, to the VoiceAmerica Kids auditions. On the air with Ms. Corr were: Jeff Spenard, President of VoiceAmerica Radio Network; Perry Damone, Founder of KidStar Radio Network; Ryan Treasure the VP of Operations for VoiceAmerica; and numerous kids who had auditioned.

Shortly after the auditions, one of the children, Maddie Rose, wrote on her FaceBook wall, “I'm back from "Voice America" audition, it was the happiest time auditioning for what I like to do! I went ‘Live’ on the radio station with them…and TV too. It was cool. The Pres. of "Kids Star" who's only 12yrs old in FL..said ‘hi’ to me on the air.”

Jeff Spenard, President and CEO of VoiceAmerica, says, “We are pleased to confirm that we already have several kid hosts in mind for the topics of Technology, Sports, Health, Fashion and Books. However, if one of these is your child’s topic of choice, bring them down for the second round of auditions on Nov 6th. We are open to having more than one program within the same genre. We are also looking for kids who are passionate about entertainment, video game reviews, current events art, history, science and just about anything else relevant to kids.”

Perry Damone, founder of KidStar Radio Network added “We had a terrific and unexpected turn out which prompted us to schedule a second round on Saturday, November 6th, 2010. We were not surprised about the talent that these kids possess and we want to see more! We want to see as many kids as possible attend the next round of auditions at the VoiceAmerica Studios in Tempe, AZ, for a chance at an amazing journey in radio and in life.”
