LA ORT College is affiliated with ORT Operations USA, is a Technical Vocational Facility dedicated to providing affordable technology based education and English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to the community.
At laort.edu, becoming well versed in English abroad is fairly simple. The institute offers an excellent and painless way to learn ESL. The ESL program offered at the institute focus on vocational preparation, socialization skills, and functional grammar in a cumulative program. At each level, new language skills are presented while the skills learned in prior levels are reinforced by increasingly sophisticated applications of interpersonal communication.
ESL program is mainly centralized on oral communication, but listening, reading, and writing are also comprised into the syllabus at each level. Moreover, issues of living and working in a multi-cultural society are also covered in greater depth at each level.
Basic, Intermediate and Advanced are the three clusters in which ESL program is parted. Each cluster is divided in 6 levels. The daytime program is conducted Monday-Thursday for 5 hours a day, and Friday for 4 hours, combining for a total of 24 hours per week.
The evening program is conducted Monday-Thursday for 4.5 hours a day, combining for a total of 18 hours per week. The ESL daytime program runs for the duration of 30 weeks and the ESL evening program runs for the duration of 40 weeks total.
Upon completion of semester with credit hours (720/600/480 clock hours), the student will receive a certificate of graduation if he /she meets the graduation requirements. LAORT also offers individual ESL levels as part of the 720, 600 and 480-hour overall programs approvals. Plus, in our each program, employment preparation course is also included so that our students can perform successfully in the job interview.
