"In response to an ever-growing problem among teens, Café Prevention has expanded their product line to include new posters geared to educate high school and college students about teen dating violence so that it may be prevented."

Café Prevention announces the addition of three new eye catching posters addressing teen dating violence “True Love Should Not Keep Track of Me 24/7”, “True Love Wouldn’t Try to Hold Me Back”, and “True Love Shouldn’t Hurt Like This”.

Designed in response to high school and college faculty who asked for posters that address this ever-growing problem, Café Prevention is launching a new series and more will be added in the months ahead. Throughout the development of this series they sought widespread feedback from both high school and college youth as well as private and religious organizations, and Café Prevention, along with Community Partnership, is excited to bring the public what they consider to be ‘the best possible’ message.

Café Prevention is currently offering a Spring Sale. Simply use the code: spring1020 before April 16, 2010 and receive a 20% discount for any of their prevention products (not including shipping charges).

Study after study shows that alarming numbers of teens experience and accept dating violence in their relationships. According to the American Bar Association’s 2008 “National Teen Dating Violence Prevention Initiative”, 1 in 2 teens in a serious relationship has compromised personal beliefs to please a partner. In the 2007 Technology and Teen Dating Abuse Survey, 1 in 3 teens in a relationship have a partner who frequently asked them where they were and who they were with.

In the 2006 study commissioned by Liz Claiborne, 1 in 4 teens who had been in a serious relationship said their partner had tried to prevent them from spending time with family and friends; the same number had been pressured to only spend time with their partner. In the same study, 1 in 5 teens that had been in a serious relationship reported being hit, slapped, or pushed by a partner.

Comments from faculty and students alike, in response to Cafe Prevention’s new line of posters, have been extremely positive. They are all designed in such a way that individual organizations displaying the posters can add a sticker with a Helpline or Hotline number, or for a small charge, Café Prevention can add that on one’s behalf to make the process even easier.

Addressing a similar topic, Café Prevention has also added a very sobering and hard-hitting poster addressing the link between substance abuse and child abuse & neglect. Just go to CafePrevention.com and look for “Monsters Under the Bed…..”

Although their newest poster addresses teen dating violence, Café Prevention also has a great selection of prevention materials addressing underage drinking, prescription drug abuse, meth, marijuana and other substances of abuse, gang and youth violence, teen resiliency, early childhood and more. Their formats have been designed in response to feedback from educators, parents, community groups and youth themselves, and include postcards, bookmarks, door hangers, wallet cards, community toolkits, brochures, billboards, and static cling decals.
