Samsung Concludes “Hope for Children” Campaign in the Levant

Beirut, Lebanon (December 2011) – Samsung Electronics Levant concluded its “Hope for Children” Campaign in the region, a global Samsung initiative aimed at providing better health and educational opportunities for underprivileged children.

The campaign which aimed at collecting donations for the benefit of SOS children launched the second phase of the initiative earlier in the month of December on the social network medium, facebook. The initiative concluded during the “Bus of Hope” which visited the Amman and Irbid SOS villages in Jordan on the 18th and 20th of December, and Safaria and Kafria SOS villages in Lebanon on the 21st and 22nd of the same month. The initiative also included renovating the computer lab in the Aleppo SOS village in Syria.

In the “Bus of Hope” visits a number of Samsung Levant employees in addition to volunteers who signed up to join in spreading the hope. The visits included the distribution of educational books to the children, renovation of the computer labs and entertaining activities and an educational play enjoyed by all.

Also during the visit, educational books which were collected by Samsung on behalf of every runner in the 3rd Samsung Amman International Marathon were placed in the villages libraries to help enrich the children’s educational spectrum.

Additionally, Samsung presented each village director a copy of the “Book of Hope”, which contained by encouraging and motivational letters to the children also from the participants of the 3rd Samsung Amman International Marathon. Management from the villages thanked Samsung and the volunteers for this noble cause.

Commenting on the initiative, Samsung Electronics Levant President, Mr. Sang Sok Roh said, “Nothing makes us happier, than to see the smile on these children’s faces, and knowing that we contributed to a better future and a push of hope. We are proud and thankful for everyone who helped in contributing to this initiative and its success. And we certainly look forward to more visits and initiatives in the future.”
