Symphony to double its India network to 20,000 dealers

Company launches new high-end air cooler ‘Storm’ for large spaces
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (prbd.net) 10/04/2012
Ahmedabad, Tuesday, April 10, 2012: India’s largest air cooler company, Symphony Limited, is speeding ahead to expand as well as grab a bigger pie of the country’s cooler market by doubling its dealer network to 20,000 plus in the next one year. For this summer, the company has also introduced a new high-end cooler ‘Storm’ which will give cooling for larger spaces of up to 1000 square feet. Symphony Storm is the only domestic cooler in the world with a capacity to cool such a large area.

Elaborating on the retail network expansion, Mr. Achal Bakeri, Chairman and Managing Director of Symphony Ltd., said, “One of the key drivers for Symphony’s growth has been the rapid expansion of its network which has grown from 3000 to 10,200 over the last three years. The number of distributors too will be increased from around 550 currently to over 850 in the next one year. With a presence in 3500 cities across India, the company has the largest market share of 45%. But, the scope for growth is still enormous as the unorganised sector still accounts for nearly half of the approximate Rs. 1000 crore air cooler market in the country.”

On the innovation front, Symphony has introduced tower cooler Storm - the world’s first air cooler which can cover an area of up to 1000 square feet. With a premium look this new tower cooler has an array of features for the consumer. Patented PSR technology for low power consumption, powerful air throw, space saver, large tank capacity up to 100 litres, high-efficiency cooling pads, Full Function remote, LCD display and a seven-speed option are some of the major attractions of this new cooler range which are priced at Rs. 14,900 for Storm 100E model and Rs. 12,500 for Storm 70E model.

A special TV commercial has just gone on air for the new ‘Storm’ product launch. Mudra Ahmedabad has created a distinct TVC for Symphony’s Storm. The creative comprises of a blend of Bollywood shots, an interesting narrative and an actual utility idea of a cooler for a larger house which puts forth a simple message that-it can cool large houses like no other. 'Bade ghar ka cooler' is the core message of the campaign.

Symphony’s four main pillars are design, innovation, brand and network. Design-driven innovation and green engineering is a sustainable competitive advantage of the company.
